A Brand-new take on "West Side Story" opens Thursday in
the Broadway Theatre. Before the critics have their say regarding it on
line late tonight and at publish Friday morning, it is already the very
buzzed-about series of this Broadway season.
The 1957 musical is just one of the best-loved productions ever: a"Romeo
and Juliet" love story set on the mean streets of a gang-riven,
pre-gentrified Manhattan, originally choreographed and directed by

The 1961 movie version, starring Natalie Wood, Richard Beymer and Russ
(father of Amber) Tamblyn, won an Oscar. Steven Spielberg's hotly
